Academic Medicine

Clinical Academic Medicine offers a mix of clinical practice, research and teaching that allows training with a clinical specialty of interest together with the potential to contribute to world class medical research and teaching within medical schools and beyond. The Wales Clinical Academic Training - or W-CAT - Fellowship offers trainee doctors a career pathway that combines clinical speciality training with academic research, with allocated time to complete a PhD degree.

There are well-established links among Welsh universities with strong track records in medical research, teaching and supervision.

The programme aims to provide the next generation of senior clinical academics.
